Billionaire Elon Musk has renewed pressure on Donald Trump to release the long-promised Jeffrey Epstein case files, after Trump recently told his supporters to stop attacking his allies over the controversial documents.

“Seriously. He said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised,” Musk commented on X, formerly Twitter, reacting to a post about the controversy.

Trump’s comments come amid mounting criticism—even from within his own base—after a memo released by the Justice Department and FBI stated there is no Epstein "client list" and no evidence suggesting Epstein blackmailed high-profile individuals. The report reaffirmed the 2019 conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell.

On Saturday, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to defend his Attorney General, Pam Bondi, while accusing the Biden administration and others of fabricating the narrative around the so-called "Epstein Files."

“We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump posted.

Conspiracy theories about Epstein’s connections to powerful figures persist among segments of Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) base. Many believe Epstein maintained a secret “client list” of influential people he allegedly used for blackmail—claims the FBI’s latest report explicitly rejects.

Trump’s supporters expressed frustration, particularly with figures like Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, both of whom had previously leaned into the Epstein conspiracy theories but are now aligned with the official findings.

During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump had vowed to make all Epstein-related documents public. With the recent backlash and Musk’s public criticism, pressure is again mounting on Trump to follow through on that promise. Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was awaiting trial on federal charges of child sex-trafficking and conspiracy when he died in custody in 2019. While official reports cite suicide as the cause, many Republicans have continued to push the theory that he was murdered to protect powerful elites.
