Apple Launches $230 “iPhone Pocket” That Looks Suspiciously Like a Fancy Sock

Apple’s latest accessory might just blur the line between high fashion and pure absurdity. The company has unveiled the iPhone Pocket, a knitted crossbody pouch created in collaboration with Japanese designer Issey Miyake — and it’ll set you back $229.95.

Essentially, it’s a stylish sock for your iPhone. The limited-edition accessory comes in blue, brown, and black for the crossbody version, while a shorter $149.95 variant is available in orange, yellow, purple, pink, and turquoise. The smaller model can be worn over your arm or attached to a bag for a splash of color.

According to Apple, the 3D-knitted design draws inspiration from “a piece of cloth,” envisioned as an “additional pocket” that can hold any iPhone along with small essentials. It’s meant to complement — and outclass — Apple’s simpler $59 crossbody iPhone strap.
