The canceled flight was a Blue Islands flight that was supposed to leave Guernsey at 8:25 PM on Saturday. However, due to thunderstorms over Jersey, the flight was canceled just an hour later. While ten of the 19 passengers found a place to stay, the remaining nine were left with no choice but to spend the night at the airport.

The airport had toilets and food facilities, which made it easier for everyone to manage. "It made sense to keep them here since the airport had all the basics they would need," Mr. Hodge explained. He and his team stayed to chat with the stranded passengers and ensure they were as comfortable as they could be under the circumstances. "By the time we left, everyone seemed in good spirits. We hope they got a decent night's rest on our gear," he added with a smile.
