Fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies have been eagerly awaiting the return of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, and now their wish has been granted. Unfortunately, it is not part of the much-anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

The news was announced on December 15th, 2022, that Depp will be returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in a special one-off project. The project is being described as a “reimagining” of the original movie, and will be released in 2023.

The project is being produced by Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films, and will be directed by Joachim Rønning, who directed the fifth installment of the franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales. The film will also feature other returning cast members, including Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Geoffrey Rush.

The film will be set in the same universe as the original Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but will feature a brand new story and characters. It is not yet known what the plot of the movie will be, but it is expected to be a swashbuckling adventure with plenty of action and humor.

It is not yet known if the movie will be released in theaters or on a streaming service, but fans of the franchise are sure to be excited to see Depp back in the role of Jack Sparrow.

While Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is still in the works, it is not yet known when it will be released. Until then, fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing Depp back in action in the upcoming one-off project.
