Tom and Jerry have been a beloved cartoon duo since their debut in 1940 The two have been featured in numerous cartoons, movies, and television shows But, is Jerry a villain or a hero? The answer is not so simple
At first glance, Jerry appears to be the hero of the story He is often seen outsmarting Tom, the larger and more powerful cat He is also often seen helping others in need, such as a baby bird or a mouse in distress This makes him appear to be a hero
However, Jerry can also be seen as a villain He is often seen stealing food from Tom and other animals He is also seen causing trouble for Tom and other animals This makes him appear to be a villain
So, is Jerry a villain or a hero? The answer is that he can be both So much like his feline frenemy, Jerry also is not always innocent, as he can play the hero and/or the villain depending on the storyline
For example, in the cartoon “The Cat Concerto”, Jerry is seen as a hero He helps a baby bird find its way back to its nest and saves it from Tom In the cartoon “The Two Mouseketeers”, Jerry is seen as a villain He steals food from Tom and causes trouble for him
