The Captain Tom Foundation paid out more in management costs than it donated to charity, BBC News reported, citing the published accounts. Captain Tom Moore generated worldwide attention when the then 99-year-old carried out fundraising walks around his garden during COVID restrictions. The foundation gave out £160,000 to charity while spending £162,000 on management, according to the accounts through May 31. The BBC report said the foundation welcomed a review by the U.K. Charity Commission.
