The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, the ultimate automobile for the resident oligarch, has just been unveiled by Mercedes-Benz India, and over 50 cars have already been reserved. In the first quarter of 2022, the next allocation will be delivered. Why is there such a rush? To begin with, this is one of the most luxurious Mercedes on the market in India, with only the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class 650 surpassing it. It is the first Maybach SUV to arrive in India, despite being the second Maybach. Here’s why the luxurious SUV, which costs Rs 2.43 crore, is so popular.
Flying in a Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 is like a private aircraft
The Maybach GLS does not have the ability to fly. However, the middle row has Merc’s unique AIRMATIC air suspension with Adaptive Damping System Plus as standard, so you might as well be floating through the clouds. If that isn’t enough suppleness for you, the E-Active Body Control suspension unit may be added as an option. This comes in useful when going off-road, and you’d have to be a nut to drive this thing through bogs and stones. Whether you’re barking insane or obscenely affluent, your options are limited. Either way is OK. It also reduces the amount of motion felt by passengers, thereby separating them from the road.

It appears like the business
Instead of Maybach’s renowned “M-shaped” emblem, the Maybach GLS has a three-pointed star above its chrome-laden, 28-slat radiator grille, which also happens to have the “Maybach” pattern between its louvers. Apart from the chrome-encrusted front fascia, the Maybach GLS is distinguishable by its 23-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. The dual-tone paint job truly sets it out from the rest, and the heavy chrome utilization continues towards the back. It doesn’t take much to make a statement. If you’ve been longing for one, you’re out of luck. But only for a short time. The next batch, due out next year, will allow for further customization.
